Majorettes

Gwelfor Majorettes have been in being for the past thirty years and throughout this time they have remained a non profit organisation who have relied purely on kind donations and fund raising.

In 2002 cousins Claire Thomas and Jodie Darracott became the trainers with a troupe of 12 girlsand boys. Now they train over thirty members aged 6 to 30 twice a week. As in the past there is still a small committee of volunteers who have dedicated their time and energy to helping with training, hosting Gwelfor Majorettes event and fund raising.

The busiest time in the Majorette calender is between April and September every year and for Gwelfor Majorettes it is no exception, with them attending competitions on a weekly basis. The culmination of the season is the Championships which are held yearly at the end of September.

2008 was a very successful season for the Gwelfor Majorettes, with them winning several competitions in different catagories.
